On Friday 28th March, Camelford Leisure Centre held is second annual Moor and Coastal Swimming Gala for all of the primary school children in the local area. 7 Primary schools entered teams into what was a fantastic morning of swimming. There were 19 different events ranging from one length front crawl to a teamed relay involving children from different age groups. A huge amount of fun was had by all as well as some very competitive races with a lot of the Stingers swimming club development squad swimming for different schools. Last years champions Tintagel CP worked very hard to take first place again this year by quite a margin however there was a very close battle for second place from Camelford CP and Delabole CP.

There was a great turn out of supporters with mums, dads, granny’s and granddads all cheering them on. There was a raffle to raise money for Stingers swim club and Camelford Leisure Centre which raised £45. Also donation buckets on the day raised a fantastic £62 for Camelford Leisure Centre. We are extremely greatfull for all of the help, support and donations from everyone involved and we look forward to a bigger and better gala same time next year.
