Camelford Leisure Centre Ltd  is today celebrating the news that it has received a £30,000.00 funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust (formerly SITA Trust) for their extension, refurbishment and re-equipping of the Fitness Suite project.

Funding will pay for an extension of Camelford Leisure Centre’s community fitness suite by 50% into a neighboring storeroom and the purchase of new fitness equipment.  The fitness suite is aimed at all abilities and the leisure centre is looking to deliver programmes to further promote the facility and tackle inactivity in the local area.

Jonathan Holt, the chair of the board of directors said “This grant is fantastic for us.  Increasing the size of the gym and modernising the equipment will hopefully attract a new group of people to use our facilities, increase our membership base and further secure the future of our community owned leisure facility for generations to come. We’re all really excited to get the project started!”

Marianne Ivin of SUEZ Communities Trust added “We’re thrilled to have been able to support this excellent community-run sports facility which does so much to help local people stay fit and healthy.  SUEZ Communities Trust provides grants through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding is celebrating its 20th year and in that time has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.4 billion.”
