Two members of staff have completed the first Apprenticeships at Camelford Leisure Centre. Since the centre became a social enterprise and was taken over by Camelford Leisure Centre Ltd, they have recruited young people from the local community and offered Apprenticeship training that has resulted in business growth. The two young people have gained qualifications that have enabled them to offer support to customers in the gym and to run circuit training and core fitness sessions which have helped increase the centres offer to members and the local community. The Managing Director Wayne Jordan-Shilling said ‘it is great we can offer employment to the local community and that this training has enabled us to increase our service to the community. We aim to offer more employment and training opportunities as business grows.’
